Social return on investment of Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care training in Kenya

Mother and baby

Recently, there has been increased interest in demonstrating value-for-money of public health interventions. Adura is pioneering the use of the social return on investment (SROI) methodology to assess the broader social impact and value-for-money of the Making it Happen Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care training programme in Kenya.

The project involves collecting opinions of multi-stakeholders on the intended and unintended outcomes of the training intervention, as well as the financial valuation of these outcomes. Key outcomes of the study will include a SROI ratio, which demonstrate the value-for-money and a narrative that details the theory of change of the intervention from perspective of those who actually benefitted from the intervention.
